The Morning Dump: 9/24/12

Less than 24 hours after the death of his younger brother, Torrey Smith went out and helped the Ravens beat the Patriots with 2 big TDs.  Big game with a heavy heart.

I am rooting for the Bucs to get one of those kneel down turnovers this year.  Keep at it Schiano.

Not so fast, (In my best Lee Corso voice.) Cleveland!  It looks like the Saints are gonna fight you for Barkevious Mingo in the 2013 Draft.

If you are looking for the worst defense in history, don’t look far.  It’s in New Orleans right now.  I’m not basing this on opinion, but fact.

Bad calls will come with any refs, but these guys are going to get someone killed.  Headshots were a regular occurrence this weekend and I don’t think I saw one flag on it.  I would not be surprised if it took a player strike to end this mess.

Denny Hamlin called his shot and won this weekend at Loudon.  My pick to win the Chase sits in 3rd, 7 points behind leader Jimmie Johnson, but with Dover up next passing Dover powerhouse Johnson this week might be tough.

Brandt Snedeker collected a cool $11.4m for his FedEx Cup clinching Tour Championship win.  Not a bad weekend for Mr. Snedeker.

If Oregon’s defense is as good as it looked against Arizona, the SEC may have some competition for the BCS Title.

Notre Dame is winning with defense and looks like a contender also, but with USC, Stanford and Oklahoma on their schedule they have the toughest road in the nation.
