Handicapping Week 4

Welp. 1-4 last week. I missed a few that I thought were shoo-ins, apparently New Orleans really is that bad, and I got a bit lucky with the last play on Monday night. We’ll look to improve this week.

Baltimore Ravens -12.5 vs. Cleveland Browns

Key to this game:

Baltimore has the wide receivers in Boldin Smith and Jones to make the Browns pay for their lack of CB depth. If the Browns try to drop 7 or 8 in coverage the Ravens have the running game with Ray Rice to take advantage of the extra space. Look for the Ravens O to put them up early and the Ravens D to salt away the game.

Take the Ravens -12.5

New England Patriots -4.5 vs. Buffalo Bills

Key to this game:

The Bills D has been underachieving so far this season, and the Pats D has been overachieving. I think the loss of Spiller is going to hurt more than people realize. Fred Jackson might not be available and Tashard Choice isn’t a starting caliber running back in the NFL. The Patriots have found a power running game and also have Tom Brady.

Take the Patriots -4.5

San Francisco 49ers -4.5 vs. New York Jets

Key to this game:

The 49ers lost last week to the Vikings, so take advantage of the slim line in this one. The 49ers are one of my top two teams in the league currently (the other being the Texans). The Jets lost their best corner last week and are still struggling to find a consistent offense, I look for the 49ers to rebound big in this one.

Take the 49ers and give the 4.5

St. Louis Rams vs. Seattle Seahawks Total 38.5

Key to this game:

The Seahawks have a stingy defense, but also have a decent offense. Lynch will find a bit of room to run opening things up for Wilson later in the game. The Rams will feed Amendola all game with 6 to 8 yard routes and will get the running game going just enough to hit the over.

Take the OVER

Tennessee Titans +13 vs. Houston Texans

Key to this game:

As I mentioned before the Texans are one of my favorite teams in the NFL at the moment. The defense is absolutely stifling, and their running game is top notch. Oh, and Andre Johnson on the outside… CJnoK hasn’t gotten going, though he did look a ‘little’ better last week, I don’t see this as his breakout game. The Texans will get up early and pour it on.

Take the Texans and give the 13

Last Week: 1-4

Total: 8-7

Monday Specials: 3-0
