On Saturday, the Warrington Wolves lost the Super League Grand Rugby Final to the 2011 Champion Leeds Rhinos, but that wasn’t the only thing that was lost on the field. Warrington player, Paul Wood took a knee to the groin and suffered a ruptured testicle.
(Take time to recover from that statement.)
The most surprising part of this story is that Paul Wood suffered the injury one minute into the 2nd half and continued to play the rest of the game. I had trouble walking after just hearing of this injury and this guy didn’t even come out of the game. After a disappointing 26-18 loss, Mr. Wood visited the hospital to get the ruptured testicle removed and tweeted “Ruptured my right testicle, got a knee one minute into the second half, had to have it removed.” He also tweeted “Tony Smith (Warrington coach) did say in his pre-match team talk last night ‘your balls are on the line here guys!’ I didn’t think he meant literally.”, but the tweet of the day involving Mr. Wood and his newly departed right nut was “Just coming out the hospital to go home… Seriously feel like I’ve left something?”.
I applaud you Mr. Wood for being the baddest man on the planet and you now have a new Twitter follower and I recommend our readers do the same. @PaulWood_Wolves
