The Morning Dump: 10/22/12

“I’m pissed off for greatness. Because if you ain’t pissed off for greatness, that means you’re OK with being mediocre.”-Ray Lewis.  A little Monday morning push from Ray Ray.

Dwight Howard dropped a Dbl-Dbl in his Laker debut.  THE TEAM TO BEAT!!

The UCI has stripped Lance Armstrong of his 7 Tour de France titles and UCI President Pat McQuaid said it all with “Lance Armstrong has no place in cycling and he deserves to be forgotten in cycling,”.  It’s sad end note to a storied career.

The Giants force a game 7 with the Cardinals behind a masterful pitching performance by Ryan Vogelsong, but the one place you don’t want the Cardinals is with their backs against the wall.

ESPN Radio just said that the Giants have not yet lost an elimination game in the playoffs this year.  No Shit.

How sharp will the Tigers be on Wednesday after their layoff?  Leyland has vowed not to let it burn them this time around.

I thought the Texans were going to beat the Ravens, but I didn’t think they would beat the hell out of them.  That loss to Green Bay will end up bad for the rest of the AFC.

I think the BCS has it right with Alabama, Florida and K-State in the top 3.  That may change when Oregon and Notre Dame start the meat of their schedules, but now it’s right on.

If I was a Carolina Panther fan, I would be very worried about the direction of my team with Cam Newton at the helm.  His attitude and negativity are overtaking his talent and imploding this team.

Teams that have to make something happen at QB next season:  Buffalo, Kansas City, Jacksonville, Cardinals and the San Francisco 49ers.

The Saints are on a 2 game roll and Joe Vitt gets the reigns.  Their offense will win them games as long as their defense doesn’t give them up.

Matt Kenseth stayed off the wall and won the Hollywood Casino 400 in Kansas yesterday.  The hard tires and the repaved track gave us a caution filled unpredictable mess.

The Van Gundy family will not be sending the NBA any Christmas cards.  The brothers feel that the NBA stepped in and told ESPN not to hire Stan as an analyst.
